Cinco De Mayo! AKA Suck it Arizona!

Posted in Uncategorized on April 29, 2010 by factorygirl82

So with all this ridiculousness going on in Arizona over having to carry your immigration papers.  Which by the way is what the Nazi’s did with the Jews. I’m just saying….. I decided with Cinco De Mayo being around the corner I would write a very pro Mexicano blog. Why you ask? Well besides being a liberal democrat and thinking that what Arizona is doing is redunkulous. I love Mexican culture! Anyone who knows me knows this. I have a small collection of 1950s Mexican circle skirts.  I love anything with Lady Guadalupe on it, as does my mother and sister.  I love bands like Zoe, Belanova, and most recently Lost Acapulco.  Check them out even if you don’t speak Spanish they are great! Mexico has some of the best film makers right now.  On top of that they have my favorite cinematographer of all time Emmanuel Lubezki. He’s polish and mexican a double bonus.  But you’ve seen his work trust me. Little Princess, Great Expectations, The Bird Cage, Y Tu Mama Tambien,  Harry Potter #3, Sleepy Hollow, etc… Look him up on IMDB.Com of  you want more he’s done a bunch.  I’ve just started reading books on the history of Mexico so I’ll delve into that more another time. So maybe I’ll be able to tell you the exact reasons behind Cinco De Mayo but I hear that it’s kind of like St. Patricks day where they don’t celebrate it in Mexico but here it’s a big deal.  But right now I’ll just post pix of my circle skirts. And say Viva Mexico! Suck it Arizona!

Oh ps if you’re not already completely offended by  my brash statement then totally go check out all the new stuff posted on etsy.com under sellers look for factorygirl82.  There’s a great Mexican circle skirt on there. And come check out the super awesome flasks I got from a great company out in Los Angeles called DNA Creations. Later Gators!

Vacation’s all I ever wanted!

Posted in Uncategorized on April 16, 2010 by factorygirl82

Ahhhhh back and totally refreshed from a fantabulous time in Seattle with my sista! And yes I mean sister as in related. It was her bday and the theme was hip hop prom. Hopefully she will post pix soon because my camera was dead. But I looked ghetto fab in my denim shorts jumpsuit Holla! And my sis in her in metallic purple party dress with matching high tops. Doesn’t get much better than that.

So Seattle was amazing. I love it out there. I hope to open Factory Part Deux some day. And live on the ocean oh I’m sorry I mean the Sound.  Anywho I promised you a while ago I would write a little something about my favorite costume designer. I thought about it and I don’t know really what to write. Except that I love her. Her name is

MONA MAY! And she was the costume designer on Clueless, Romy and Michelle, and The House Bunny.

I love Mona May because her costumes are always hilarious, bright, colorful, and wacky. The movie clueless helped to shape who I am as a person. Not only by the quotes but the fashion. I shopped at Contempo Casuals until they closed! I would still wear everything that Cher wears in the movie. The House Bunny is hilarious, if you haven’t seen it give it a chance. You wont be disapointed. But again the costumes the hair! I want 90% of what Anna Farris wears. I say 90% because I most definitely could not wear those heels with out falling flat on my butt.  Any who check out Mona Mays work for sure it’ll put a smile on your face.

Well spring is in the air! And maybe even a little bit of summer. Come by the store and check out all the new summer dresses. If you don’t live in the area check me out on etsy.com under sellers factorygirl82.  Be on the look out for the super cool new flasks I’m getting for the store. I don’t want to ruin the surprise but they are amazing!!!
